Software, Hardware & Cards
My PC reader does not work. What should I do?
The PC reader needs to be hooked up to an available serial port not being used by any other software and also needs to be enabled in the system BIOS. The PS2 adapter needs to be connected to an active PS2 port as well.
I get the power light on my PC reader, but it will not read a card.
Verify that the PS2 record is connected to the PC.
I lost my Log-In card. What do I do?
First of all, it is recommended that a back-up Log-In card should be made: Refer to the SMS2 Manual Login Controls section for details. If there has not been too much information entered into SMS2, the easiest way to fix this problem would be to uninstall the software, delete its folder from the system, re-install the software and use a new card. If there is information that needs to be saved, contact Greenwald Industries for assistance.
I cannot add cash to Smart Cards in the Cash Manager.
In the Cash Manager, there is a field called PC Balance. There has to be an amount for the Cash Manager to work. This can be "virtual money," where any amount can put in this field and added whenever it runs low. On the other hand, this can actually be used as an "electronic cash register" and account for all the money collected and added to cards.
What is a Retrofit machine?
A Retrofit washer or dryer is a machine that has an electronic control board and works with coin drops. Greenwald Industries has readers that replace the coin drop.
What is an electromechanical machine?
An electromechanical machine is a washer or dryer that is controlled by a mechanical timer assembly. In washers, our readers interface with the timer, and in dryers the timer is replaced by our reader.
What are the system requirements for the software?

- A Pentium or equivalent processor
- Windows 95, 98, or ME
- 32 Megabytes of RAM
- An available serial port
- 40 Megabytes of hard disk space
